Michael Palin: There and Back

Michael Palin shares diary entries from a decade of travel, family, and change – including adventures and becoming a grandfather.

Information

We are delighted to welcome back a national treasure to the festival. Together we can celebrate the hotly-anticipated fourth volume of diaries chronicling the life of Michael Palin, covering the years 1999 - 2009. In that decade, he made his blockbuster travel series, Sahara, Himalaya, New Europe and Hemingway Adventure, and, like us all, navigated the shocks of 9/11, the 7/7 bombings in London and the global financial crash. Then he embarked on his greatest adventure yet: becoming a besotted grandfather.
