Dramatic Soprano Ilse Lubbers lives locally, but originally hails from The Netherlands, where she studied singing at The Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg. She has studied with Sasha Hunnego, Hanneke Kaasschieter and Susanna Waleson in The Netherlands and currently studies with Sylvia O’Brien in Dublin.
Over the last two decades, she sang as a soloist at various festivals and concerts in both The Netherlands and Ireland. Her dramatic voice is particularly suited to the Romantic repertoire in both opera and sacred works. Her voice shines at it’s brightest in the repertoire of composers like Verdi, Wagner, Puccini and Barber.
She will be joined by renowned accompanist Mary Scarlett, a long-time friend of Boyle Arts Festival, whose expressive piano work has graced countless recitals across Ireland. This promises to be an elegant and moving concert by two exceptional talents.
