Jargon, the acclaimed acoustic quartet known for their spirited blend of Ragtime, Blues, Folk and Bluegrass, make a long-awaited return to the stage.
Originally formed in 1973 by Eurovision winner Charlie McGettigan, the band quickly made their mark by winning the prestigious Letterkenny Folk Festival before releasing a trio of singles.

After a break in 1983, during which members pursued wide-ranging musical paths, Jargon reformed in 2023 with a refreshed lineup and renewed energy. Charlie McGettigan brought his award-winning songwriting and performance experience, including his celebrated collaborations with Maura O’Connell and Eleanor Shanley.

Guitarist Gerry Grennan added decades of live and studio experience, having toured with Christy Moore and worked extensively in Ireland’s folk scene. Liam Gilmartin, a powerhouse performer from Hennigan’s Blooze Band and The Rock on Tours, brings soulful vocals and groove. Joining them is Brian Mulligan, a versatile musician from Sligo’s Old Market Street Swing Band.

Expect a joyful afternoon of timeless tunes and fresh takes, as Jargon revisits old favourites and introduces new sounds to the Boyle Arts Festival audience.
