The dynamic Sligo-based folk orchestra, NoCrows, are renowned for their electrifying live shows, and the band will bring their unique fusion of genres to Boyle this July.

Formed in 2005, NoCrows has built a reputation for a spectacularly diverse sound. Their growing catalogue of original material draws from a rich melting pot of influences, including Irish traditional, Latin rumba, jazz, classical, and Balkan music. Their performances are a journey from delicate Irish airs to Gypsy mayhem, captivating audiences at major festivals like Glastonbury and Dranouter.

The band's vibrant sound is driven by the distinct compositional voices of all six members. Dublin-based violinist Oleg Ponomarev, for instance, consistently challenges and excites the ensemble with his Gypsy and jazz-influenced tunes. As bassist Eddie Lee notes, “Oleg is one of those exciting musicians I used to go and hear in concert before getting the chance to work with him. He writes tunes that challenge and excite - especially us lucky musicians who get to play them.”

This collaborative spirit ensures a constantly evolving and thrilling repertoire.
