Enjoy a flavourful curry followed by a gripping big-screen Everest drama
Based on the ill-fated 1996 expedition, EVEREST captures spectacular Himalayan images alongside the thrill and risks of high-altitude mountaineering.
It's also a story of love, loss, and legacy. Together with the film's gripping performances and stunning visuals, the real tragedy behind it all makes this an unforgettable watch.
We'll be serving up a choice of curries with tasty accompaniments in the Victory Hall before you settle down to watch this intense tale of daring, survival and disaster on Broughton Film Club's large-sized screen.
The film will no doubt spark some debate over the ethics and management of commercial expeditions on Everest. An intermission will provide a chance for some impromptu discussions as you get another beer or glass of wine in at our cash bar!
This evening is hosted by Broughton Film Club to raise funds for a community-run Post Office, shop and visitor information service. All profits from the film screening, meal, bar and raffle will go to Broughton Community Services CIC, a not-for-profit organisation.
