A story-telling celebration of the spaces between countries and regions, between identity and belonging, and between the real and the unknown. And at its heart, it is a celebration of our home - the Scottish Borders.
Tales from the Borderlands is a show that crosses over from the Scottish Borders to realms beyond - known, unknown, real and fantastical. A 60-minute traditional storytelling show, we take the audience on a journey exploring their own histories, and those of others, through different borders, both physical and metaphysical.
A collaboration between Ryan Martin, a resident of the Scottish Borders, who’s stories explore the Borders themselves and the borders between this realm and the realm of the faerie; Kate Walters, who tells stories from her home in England, in the marshlands that blur the borders between land and sea; and Neel Paul, from India, who’s stories explore the borders between life and death, all set in the backdrop of the partition of Bengal.
Tales from the Borderland is a celebration of the spaces between countries and regions, between identity and belonging, and between the real and the unknown. And at its heart, it is a celebration of our home - the Scottish Borders.
The show is aimed at 14+, and hopes to bring thrills, laughter, legends and mythology to an audience in Duns.
