A walk designed for young people to explore basic expedition skills, take on a few challenges and have fun along the way!
This walk is a ‘Mini Expedition’ and will use the beautiful coastal area near Dirleton to explore navigation, outdoor cooking, expedition planning, basic first aid and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. Expect challenges along the way and lots of fun!
This walk will take the group on a coastal loop of 8km to 10km. This activity will involve expedition-based challenges along the way so we won’t be walking for the whole time. This is not a difficult walk and will be over paths, tracks and sand.
What to bring
• This is a walk over mixed terrain so we would advise wearing walking boots, sturdy shoes or trainers with a good grip.
• Water / drink
• Snacks
• Suncream
• Waterproof jacket and trousers (it is Scotland!)
