Matricide, mayhem and myth.
Inspired by Scottish poem, Tam o'Shanter, the piece follows best-friends Omi, Callum and Tandy on a road trip of self-discovery, mayhem, and murder. The young Trans friends from different backgrounds learn to tackle generational struggles in a world where fairytale comes to life.
Covering themes of family, identity, and community. Pulling from the experiences of disabled, queer and Black communities, combined with the cultural myths of werewolves and transformation from Scottish and Caribbean culture. It explores cultural heritage, identity and the dynamics of blood/ found families. Asking the question of where you think you should belong, and where you do belong.
