Information

In partnership with the Cross-Party Group on the Circular Economy
The circular economy is a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible. How do we ensure that Scotland becomes a circular economy? How do we recycle at home and on the move and how do we buy more sustainably? What would this mean for people, business and the environment? How can policies and technologies help or indeed hinder us on this journey? Find out how you can help.

Chair: Maurice Golden MSP, Convener, Cross-Party Group on the Circular Economy

Panellists:

Dr Lynn Wilson is from the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow. Combined with her experience of working in zero waste, and circular economy business strategies at a policy level, since 2012, she has become one of the leading circular economy practitioners in the UK.

Kerry Morrison from the GS1 organisation heads up the retail team at GS1 UK, the company that provides the industry with the barcodes needed to trade. With 20 years of experience in the retail sector, Kerry has worked with products such as Jaffa cakes and Scottish whisky, as well as retail consultancies, using consumer trends to help brands create the latest favourites.

Dr Nicki Souter has a PhD in Environmental Biochemistry and Microbiology and is a Chartered Waste Manager with Chartered Institution of Wastes Management. She is the Director of Nicki Souter Associates, an environmental communications and research consultancy, with over 25 years of experience in developing and delivering effective behavioural change programmes for the resource management sector.
