Information

Acclaimed poetic-psychedelic ensemble Acolyte celebrate the release of their debut EP ‘The Blue Dark’. A meditation on awe and unease, the EP moves through confusion and connection, tracing the emotional experience of a world in flux.

Developed through years of collaboration, Acolyte’s distinctive sound is mesmeric, shaped by layered loops, hypnotic grooves, storytelling and suspense. The Blue Dark is a celebration of the strange - of nature and navigating the unknown together.

In 2025, the band premiered their interdisciplinary performance ‘Production Line of Dreams’ at Hidden Door Festival - described as “hauntingly gorgeous” in a ★★★★★ Scotsman review - it cemented their reputation for ambitious, immersive work.

Join Acolyte for a night of strange beauty, rhythm and reverie!

Maniatrix - Edinburgh-based electronic artist blending industrial textures and deconstructed club rhythms. The night also celebrates the release of her remix of Moon Disaster, featured on The Blue Dark EP.

Suzi Cunningham - Movement artist and choreographer whose work spans dance and live art. After collaborating with Acolyte at Hidden Door Festival in 2025, she brings a powerful visual dimension to their immersive world.

Tom Bailey - Award winning poet and writer whose work moves between lyric, narrative and experimental text.

Ascetic Practices - Edinburgh's premier esoterick zine peddlers and dark & gothic dance party/DJ collective join Acolyte with crates of moody brooding beats for all the creatures of the night!

“Fixtures of Edinburgh’s gig-turned-performance art scene, Acolyte’s eerie, earthy psychedelia is just as likely to be found on stage at the Traverse theatre as in a steamy-windowed Leith Walk boozer... glamorously unhurried” – The Guardian

“A stunning turn from poet and performance artist Iona Lee at the helm” – The Skinny (on ‘Warm Days in December’)
