2 - 4.30pm on Saturday 23rd May. £90 per person including all tools, materials and firings. Pots to be returned to makers at a later date. The workshop would focus on building a planter by the coiling method, each to their own design.
Join The Potter of Leith for a relaxed, hands-on ceramics workshop led by potter Andy Lang, where you’ll learn to build your own planter using the coiling method. Working with stoneware clay in a small, supportive studio environment, you’ll be guided through the process step by step while being encouraged to develop your own individual design.
Rooted in Andy’s teaching approach, the workshop is as much about the experience as the outcome, offering a chance to focus fully on the creative process and enjoy the therapeutic, absorbing nature of working with clay . With individual guidance throughout, complete beginners and more experienced makers alike are welcome.
Your finished planter will be professionally glazed and high fired, resulting in durable stoneware that is fully waterproof and frost proof, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. As with all work produced at the studio, the emphasis is on creating something functional, personal and made to last, using techniques and materials central to the practice at Leith Community Pottery
