Information

Participants choose between five days of dedicated coaching in Rugby or Hockey:

Loretto Rugby Camp coaches will be delighted to pass on their experiences to the young participants on the Rugby Camp. The focus is on the core elements of rugby: attack, defence, kicking, contact skills and set piece. Alongside appropriate levels of strength and conditioning work the young people will be engaged and have a lot of fun.

The Loretto Rugby Camp will be headed up by Andrew Binikos and Jason White. Andrew is Loretto’s Head of Rugby where he has overseen steady improvements year on year in the school’s rugby programme. Andrew is currently the Cyprus senior men’s coach and has experience working professionally with the Natal Sharks in South Africa. Jason is Loretto’s Director of Sport, he enjoyed a long and successful career as a professional rugby player, captaining the Scotland senior team and representing the British and Irish Lions.

Loretto Hockey Camp coaches are excited to be passing on their knowledge and experiences to the young participants at the Hockey Camp. The main focus of the camp will be to improve the core elements of hockey: passing, body position, tackling, shooting and set pieces. There will also be a focus on the fitness side of hockey to help with the progression of the skills, incorporating hockey games and lots of fun.

The Loretto Hockey Camp is run by Rory Kerr and Tom Morrison. Rory is Loretto’s Head of Hockey, he has a background in playing and coaching away from Scotland in Australia, New Zealand and England. Rory has also been involved with junior and senior Scotland squads during his playing career. Tom has coached and played hockey in Scotland and England, also had a season playing out in Australia. Tom is first team coach at Loretto and has experience in both playing and coaching in Scotland and England and has also been involved in junior Scotland squads.
