Information

This exciting showcase brings together a diverse collection of contemporary shorts from Scottish-based animators who are pushing the boundaries of the form. From bold experimental works to imaginative worlds and thought-provoking social commentaries, each film reflects the creativity, technical skill, and distinctive voice of its maker. Together, they highlight the strength of Scotland’s animation community and mark an important new chapter in Manipulate Arts’ ongoing commitment to supporting and championing independent animation.

The films in this programme are finalists for the inaugural Manipulate Award for Scottish Animation. The award, presented in partnership with Move Summit and Glasgow Film, is a new biennial award recognising excellence in independent Scottish animation and celebrates the grass roots creativity and innovation that continue to define the nation’s animation community. Films in consideration are all short films under 15 minutes in length, created within the last three years by filmmakers based in Scotland.

Available to view from 18:00 on Friday 6th February until 18:00 on Sunday 8th February.
