Georgia Cécile

As part of Brilliant Corners - a festival of jazz in Belfast

2:00pm ‐ 4:30pm
The Black Box
18-22 Hill St, Belfast, BT1 2LA

Information

Georgia Cécile (Voice) Aleph Aguiar (Guitar)

“UK Jazz Act of the Year” and “Vocalist of the Year” at the 2022 Jazz FM Awards, Georgia Cécile is leading the new wave of UK jazz crossover artists. Raised in Glasgow’s vibrant music scene and inspired by her grandfather, a renowned pianist, Georgia draws influence from legends like Nina Simone and Stevie Wonder, lending retro soul-jazz with modern R&B influences like D’Angelo and Lianne La Havas. Her music is rich in storytelling and possesses soulful, emotional depth.

Following her acclaimed debut, Georgia has supported Gregory Porter on tour, performed with the BBC Concert Orchestra, and showcased at SXSW in Texas. Endorsed by Jamie Cullum on BBC Radio 2 and named by The Guardian as one of six UK artists to watch, her recent sell-out performances at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s and The Blue Note Milan underscore her status as a global rising star.

“Every so often a voice comes along with the ability to bowl the listener over…that is Georgia Cécile”
