Dundee's Christmas Ice Skating

Dundee's Christmas ice rink brings the joy of a traditional skating experience to the heart of the city! Set in a festive wonderland with twinkling lights and seasonal cheer, the rink offers a fantastic outing for families, friends, and couples. From beginners to experienced skaters everyone is welcome to share in the festive fun!

• Skating sessions last for approximately 45 minutes.
• Children 16 and under must be accompanied by a participating responsible adult
• Babes in arms are not permitted on the ice rink.
• To participate all children must be aged 4 and over.
• Please arrive 20 minutes before your time slot to get your skates on before your session starts. If you are late for your timeslot, we may not be able to guarantee entry.
• For safety reasons, you are not allowed to take photographs whilst on the ice. However, spectators can take photos from the viewing areas around the rink.
• For safety reasons, bags are not permitted on the ice.
• The minimum skate size boot on the rink is a children's size 8, and the maximum is an adult size 15
• Skate hire is included in your ticket price, but you're also welcome to bring your own skates, subject to suitability checks. Please note, speed skates are not allowed
• Skating aid penguins are available for younger children. Only children under 1.2m tall can use the Penguins. These are subject to availability and provided on a first-come-first-served basis.

Rink Rules
Dundee’s Christmas Ice Rink is not responsible for accidents, skaters particpate at their own risk. Please follow the rules below at all times to ensure the safety of you and other skaters.

Ice Rink Staff and Site Management reserve the right to refuse entry to or remove individuals from the Ice Rink if you are deemed to be intoxicated, aggressive, exhibiting dangerous behaviour or harassing others.

The rules below must be read, understood and followed at all times

Dos

1. Skate within your own ability and maintain reasonable control of your speed and direction at all times
2. Be careful when skating as conditions may vary – please be aware of soft spots, rough edges, water puddles and other hazards.
3. Abide by all informational signage and co-operate with Ice Rink marshals.
4. Maintain awareness of others on the ice at all times.
5. Always skate in an anticlockwise direction
6. Make sure your ice skates fit properly, comfortably and are correctly fastened.
7. Remove headphones, there is site music and there may be important announcements.
8. Wear socks at all times whilst skating in hired skates.
9. Keep exits and entrances to the ice clear.
10. Use caution when entering and exiting the ice.
11. Only skate during your allotted session, please leave when your session is over to allow others on to the ice. The Ice Marshalls will notify when your session is coming to an end.
12. All skaters must be over the age of 4.
13. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult whilst on the ice.

Don’ts

1. Carry children or babies on the ice. All skaters must skate independently.
2. Cut across the rink.
3. Play tag or engage in rough play.
4. Skate in chains of more than 2 people.
5. Chip, throw or spray ice towards any other skaters or spectators.
6. Sit, climb, or put feet on barrier surround the ice rink.
7. Use phones or take photographs whilst on the ice. Those spectating can take pictures whilst you skate.
8. Take food or drinks on to the ice or litter on the ice.
9. Wear scarves or loose clothing that may become entangled with other skaters.
10. Carry bags or loose articles on the ice.
11. Act in a manner that may cause or contribute to your injury or injury to any other person.
12. Engage in abusive, abrasive, or disorderly conduct.
13. Skate whilst under the influence of drugs or other impairing substances or whilst intoxicated.
14. Smoking is not permitted on the ice.
