David Grubb and his quartet join us for a very special Saturday afternoon on their Circadia Anniversary Tour. They will also be playing an additional free show at 1pm at Pianodrome Bruntsfield.
DAVID GRUBB QUARTET CIRCADIA ANNIVERSARY TOUR
Join violinist and composer David Grubb and his quartet for a captivating live performance blending folk, contemporary classical, and jazz. The show centres around Circadia — an instrumental concept album that journeys through the stages of sleep and the subconscious mind — but also features reimagined material from David’s previous albums. Performed on violin, clarinet, piano, and bass, expect rich melodies, cinematic textures, and a dynamic set that moves from reflective to euphoric.
"David Grubb has become a sought-after musician, renowned for his ability to seamlessly blend musical styles. Primarily a violinist, he has shared the stage and studio with notable acts including Novo Amor, Jim Ghedi, Hailaker, Toby Hay, and collaborated with producers Ali Chant, Neil Davidge, and Ed Tullett. His work has taken him to North America, Europe, Asia, and New Zealand, performing in iconic venues such as The Barbican Centre (London) and Bowery Ballroom (NYC)."
“Grubb’s skill as a composer is in holding
light and dark together, but, in a way that
does not produce grey.”

Venue Info
The Granton Pianodrome is a DIY grassroots venue set in a warehouse on an Industrial estate shared with some van rental companies and used car sales. Ours is the most colourful unit at the end: You'll see a grand piano on top of a shipping container!
Toilets: please note that we simply have one compost toilet at this venue (made out of pianos) which may not be accessible for some guests. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and assure you that we are doing our best to remedy this issue.
