Moteh Parrott triumphantly returns to Pianodrome, this time with his full band. Opening with the charming Sarah Irvine on support.
Moteh Parrott is an Edinburgh-based alternative-indie-folk-rock artist from The Highlands via Africa.
Born in Cameroon to parents working in rainforest conservation, and given the local name ‘Mnkongmoteh’, his music has been likened to “a Highland wilderness with all the sweeping colour and spirit which that encompasses”, complementing reflective, uplifting lyrics with open-tuned electric guitar and cello.
Shortlisted for BBC Radio Scotland’s Singer-Songwriter of the Year Award, Moteh has recently released his debut album, which was recorded at Chem19 studios with Paul Savage, producer of Mogwai, Arab strap and King Creosote, among other renowned Scottish artists. The album features collaborations with Rachel Sermanni and trad musician Ryan Young.
