Och Vey brings a special acoustic show to the Bruntsfield Pianodrome. The set will include mellow klezmer tunes interspersed with new arrangements of older songs. We aim to create a hopeful space of resistance and solidarity.
About the Artist & The Show:
OCH VEY are Scotland's premier anarcho-klezmer band. We take the traditional folk music of Eastern European Jews and fuse it with a punchy backline. Our gigs promise a generous dose of high octane, dance inducing, punk infused klezmer music. Expect soaring clarinet solos, wailing fiddle, crunchy guitar, pounding drums, rhythmic accordion, and a large quantity of bass.
Show description:
Och Vey bring a special acoustic show to the Bruntsfield Pianodrome. The set will include mellow klezmer tunes interspersed with new arrangements of older songs that conjure past stories of workers’ struggles, losses and victories, as well as utopian post capitalist futures. We aim to create an inspiring and hopeful space that reflects our belief in the possibilities of resistance and solidarity. And we guarantee a bit of foot stomping too!
