Pop Mutations presents: Rainy Miller / Kute / Bloody Shield At The Flying Duck
Rainy Miller:
From Preston, to Glasgow. Showcasing the first A/V experience of “Joseph, What Have You Done?”, I am honoured to be able to be playing North of the border, for the first time since 2022. Support from Kute & Bloody Shield.
Miller moved to Manchester in 2015 and soon recorded and released his debut project, Limbs (2019) a work of northern neo-R&B that was put out on his newly minted own label Fixed Abode and which he toured across the UK in support of US artist Gus Dapperton.
Miller followed this up with his second solo project A Choreographed Interruption (2021 via Fixed Abode), a poetic and emotionally penetrating audio-visual study of loss and longing that presented a more idiosyncratic and sonically developed sound.
His next release saw him team up with The White Hotel’s off-shoot label HEAD II with his most ambitious project to date DESQUAMATION (Fire, Burn. Nobody). The project was a full bloodied, emotionally visceral piece of work segueing and stretching across a sound world of contorted pop and laconic drill that cemented Miller’s position at the cutting edge of contemporary electronic music.
