Cracked Asphalt seeks to untangle the strings of guilt Sree found herself wrapped in after her move from Mumbai to Dublin. What is home, beyond concrete, relationships and postal addresses? Her poems are a personal exploration of fractured identities and the essence of ‘home’.
Whether exploring queerness through fierce lyrical poetry or celebrating Michael’s beloved Scotland through vernacular vignettes, the main preoccupation in Goonie is with how we form community around us and how community, in turn, forms us.
