An evening of harmonised Balkan, Greek and Mediterranean folk songs in a stunning acoustic setting.
Samodiva Nestya (Bulgarian for fire-dancing sirens) are an Edinburgh-based 8-piece folk ensemble performing Eastern European and Mediterranean folk music. Three harmonising singers, a host of unusual instrumentation - including harp, violin, cello, vibraphone and accordion - and their original arrangements make this project unique. This is a chance to see the band perform acoustically in the stunning location of St.Vincent Chapel, Stockbridge, awaiting for spring!
Stin Pena in Greek means "in style", inspired by that "guitar pick" (Πένα) energy. With violin, guitar, and voices, the band plays the tunes you’d hear at a taverna, glenti, or by the sea—the kind of music that makes you want to sing along and feel the Greek spirit!
Doors open from 7 pm. Concert starts at 7.30 pm
