In 2013, Ciarán founded the Dublin City Jazz Orchestra featuring Ireland’s finest jazz musicians with special guests performances by saxophonists Ernie Watts, Rick Margitza, trumpeter Anders Bergcantz and singers Cyrille Amiée, Christine Tobin and Buddy Greco to name but a few and successfully toured Ireland with this Big Band including television performances such as the Late Late Show.

His alto saxophone and clarinet also features on a number of Irish movie soundtracks. In 2011 Ciarán recorded an album of jazz standards with legendary jazz pianist George Mesterhazy and jazz guitarist David O’Rourke in Cape May New Jersey. Ciarán has been part of the Ballymun Music Programme for the past 24 years and has established and run many school and community bands as part of this.
