Information

Broken Silences is a collective healing experience for those who have felt invisible, whether it has been through being the only Black or brown person in the room, the only immigrant, the only neurodivergent person, the only trans/non-binary person, the only woman…

This intimate, in the round performance by musician Simone Seales will consist of a curation of poems by writers who have found solidarity in community, even though wider society pushes them to the fringes. The event will include a sonic meditation by Pauline Oliveros, an invitation to be together in community, to sing to one another and to be aware of everyone’s presence in the space.

This event is part of the Now You See Us programme, a two-day showcase of new artist commissions, creative workshops, film screenings and vital discussions responding to this year’s Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival theme, In/Visible.
