Join TV chefs Julie Lin and Rosemary Shrager for this exclusive Saturday gathering, with special guest Noby Leong
Saturday afternoon's flagship event brings together two festival favourites and a brilliant new voice for an engaging session of food talk, stories and good company. Julie Lin and Rosemary Shrager need little introduction to oyster festival-goers, but they're joined for the first time by Noby Leong, so let us introduce him...
Noby came to last year's festival as a visitor and fell in love with it, so we couldn't resist inviting him onto the stage this year. A scientist, writer, TV presenter and cook, Noby trained as a research chemist and completed a PhD before turning his attention to food communication, and he's appeared on Scientific American, BBC Radio Scotland and ABC Radio. He also co-hosts Satay? Okay!, a podcast that takes a deep and curious dive into the foods that have shaped Malaysia.
The Malaysian heritage that Noby shares with Julie Lin promises fascinating conversation and dishes, and with Rosemary's warmth and energy in the mix, expect a conversation that crosses heritage, home cooking, flavour science and food culture in equal measure. The relaxed format will leave plenty of room for audience interaction.
Attendees will be welcomed with a glass of Prosecco, a dram of Rock Island whisky or a non-alcoholic alternative on arrival, plus afternoon tea-style light bites from Dunskey.
Please note, we are unable to cater for specific dietary requirements at this event. Due to the inclusion of alcohol, this event is designed for those aged 18 and over.
