Local culinary talent Ryan McCutcheon returns after his sell-out appearances over the last 3 years, this year with the same restaurant quality dishes with a focus on knife skills
Ryan McCutcheon returns to Stranraer Oyster Festival following sell-out demonstrations in each of the last three years. This year, Ryan's session has a sharper focus, quite literally: Knives Out is a restaurant-quality demo with knife skills at its heart, giving festival-goers a closer look at the technique that underpins fine dining.
A Stranraer chef through and through, Ryan trained in some of Scotland's most prestigious kitchens, including Cromlix and Gleneagles, and now brings that experience home through his fine-dining-at-home and corporate chef services. He cooks with a deep respect for Galloway's producers, many of whom he counts as friends and longstanding suppliers.
He'll be joined in the Kitchen Marquee by Helen Cross, a food and gardening writer and presenter who, like Ryan, has built her career from solid Stranraer roots.
