Join local Stranraer legends for a cookery & cocktail demo, alongside local food and drink producers
For many in Stranraer, the Lisi brothers are the beating heart of Stranraer Oyster Festival’s Kitchen Marquee. Dougie and Massi have been part of the festival since before it launched, and their demos are always among the festival's most popular. This year for their event, we’re inviting local food and drink producers in to share the stage, to shine a light on the local heroes that make this festival such a celebration of place, people and produce.
Dougie and Massi will be joined by Erin Bullard of Dark Sky Spirits, the boutique Moffat distillery that has produced a special Stranraer Oyster Festival whisky for several years running. Erin will lead a tasting of one of her spirits, while Massi shakes up a cocktail using another treat from the Dark Sky Spirits range. Dougie will prepare a delicious dish alongside, drawing on produce from a local food producer to bring Galloway flavour onto the plate, into the glass and into the conversation.
Hosting the kitchen for this event is Donald Sloan of Oxford Cultural Collective, who'll guide the chat and explore what it means to make great food and drink in this part of the country.
Attendees will be invited to enjoy a tasting of Dark Sky Spirits. Due to the inclusion of alcohol, this event is designed for those aged 18 and over.
