Come along to our Community Garden for a chance to learn more about winter pruning.
Grow your skills and confidence in caring for and pruning fruit bushes at our winter pruning workshop.
Led by Zoe, Food & Growing Project Officer, and Sally, Community Garden Volunteer, we'll be talking through pruning techniques, and practising our pruning skills on fruit bushes across the community garden, including blackcurrants, redcurrants, blueberries and gooseberries. We may also be able to propagate some of the bushes from cuttings.
We'll have a relaxed and informal approach with plenty of opportunity for discussion blended with practical activity.
Please dress for the weather conditions on the day, and wear sturdy footwear as some of the ground in the Community Garden is uneven. If you have your own gardening gloves and secateurs please bring them as we have a limited amount.
We'll have the kelly kettle on for tea and coffee, but feel free to bring along your own drink and snack if you like.
